With all the parts separated from the engine it was time to start cleaning off the undercoat overspray and 50 or so years of dirt and grime that accumulated on the engine. I started with the fuel and oil filter housings as those are some of the relatively easily visible pieces on the engine. Just a simple degreasing and light polish to bring a light sheen to the aluminum parts. These stay raw aluminum, so actually making them shiny helps them stay clean and keep them easy to clean down the road.
